Emigration Festival Programme

27th June – 5th July 2009.

Much of the entertainment will take place in the new, great Utsikten Hotel, which opened just before the festival last year. Just to experience this hotel is worth a trip to Kvinesdal.

Saturday 27. June. Knaben Day.
12.00	Opening of Utvandrerfestivalen with Mayor Odd Omland.
	Awards of Environment for Knaben 2008 with Odd Omland. Open mine and museum all day Painting exhibition in the chapel
14.00
	“Bukkerittet” for the race professional. Start / finish at the camp school Others who want to go without Timing have all day. Available food in the tent throughout the day from 12.00 May Brit and Laila has delicious cakes, coffee and soda from the Knaben minekitchen. Last years barbecue personel from Egersund is back.
21.00	The band”STONE” is playing dance music in the tent. Entrance: Kr.100,- Eighteen years

12.00	The Fjotland museum is open
12.00	Family day at the farm Torvløbakkan.
12.00-16.00	The Lister Emigrationmuseum is open.

	Official opening of The Førland Museum next to Utsikten Hotel Sunday 28.juni at18.00 Artistic performance Short info about Kunstmaler Marcelius Førlands life. Guided tours in the Artists home. Snacks and beverages.
Wednesday 01. July.
14.00-18.00	The Lister Emigrationmuseum is open.
19.00	Shrimp Fest in the Feda IL Clubhouse. Eat as much as you like. Entrance: Kr 150,- Arr. Sons of Norway.
Thursday 02. July.
1400-1800.	The Lister Emigrationmuseum is open.
18.00	Promenade race. Arr. Kvinesdal IL.
19.30	Songs and music in Kvinesdal Kulturhus Concert with the famous band ”GUTANE” from Vennesla. Suprise singers join. Sermon by Marit Rasmusen.
Friday 03. July.
1400-1800.	Official opening of the new part of The Lister Emigrationmuseum by Mayor Odd Omland. Coffee, soda and pancakes. Local entertainment.
19.00	Culture Night at the Utsikten Hotel. Helene Bøksle with band at Utsikten Amfi. 21.30	Get together party at the Utsikten Hotel. Greetings from the head office in Mineapolis, by Eivind J. Heiberg. The 180-degree movie. Music by Sverre Risdal. Fish soup served with bread and garlic butter. Eat as much as you want. Admission: Kr.145,-
Saturday.04.	july.
0900 - 11.00	Kvinesdal Regional Golf arranges golf tournament Emigration open. Starting from .0900 to 11.00 The tournament is open to all who have green cards or better. We play 18 hole Stable Ford. 11.00	Historical Car exebition at ”Promenaden” in Liknes.arr by Kvinesdal technical museum. Drivers and passengers compete in the category “best costumes”. The audience votes for their faovorite. Story about “the Diamond T bus” that originated from America.

1200-1600	The Lister Emigrationmuseum is open.
14.00	Old Fashion Show, at The Utsikten Hotel. A fashion show with a retrospective on American dresses from the 60 and 70 century. Welcome to a historic Old Fashion Show! Movie 180-degree film.(15 minutes)
2000-0100	Emigration party in Kvinesdalhallen. Music by the orchestra Sunde Brothers who play dance music from the 60-years until today. (Ever Greens) Dinner, coffee and cakes. Lister Utvandrermuseum Festival opening hours : Every day exeptMonday and Tuesday the 30 juni.og 01. July. Saturdays and Sundays from kl. 12-16.00 and Wednesday to Friday from 14.00 -18.00. The museum tells the emigration story from theLister region from 1850 to the post-war period in Brooklyn.
Regular opening hours: Every Sunday from 21 June to 16.august .12-16.00

Leivs Galleryat Knibestøl in Austerdalen is open every day during the festival from 12.00 - 18.00 exeptSaturday 04.July. The gallery displays Leivs paintings, poems and books.
